About Joseph Ouma Ogolla

Joseph Ouma Ogolla is a community leader, permaculture practitioner, and social change advocate from Kochia Korayo in Homa Bay County. He is the Director and Founder of the J-Ten Village Project, a community-based organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable families and promoting sustainable community development.
Born as the eldest son in a family of about 20 children, Joseph grew up in a humble and struggling background where access to basic needs such as food, education, and healthcare was a major challenge. Experiencing poverty firsthand shaped his passion for helping others facing similar hardships.
In 2012, Joseph Ouma Ogolla founded J-Ten Village Project after being inspired to create a positive change in his community. His vision was to support widows, orphans, and vulnerable members of society affected by hunger, lack of education, poverty, and HIV/AIDS. Together with 6 men and 4 women who shared the same vision, he established the organization to create hope, opportunity, and a better future for disadvantaged families.
Through his leadership, Joseph has continued to champion:
– Sustainable farming and permaculture practices
– Food security and environmental conservation
– Education and skills empowerment
– Community development and self-reliance
– Peace, love, and unity within society
Joseph believes that empowering communities with practical knowledge, compassion, and sustainable solutions is key to building a better and more dignified future for all.
